Last week, we went to Panama for a trip. From there, we went to Mexico Beach, Florida which is situated 20 minutes away from Panama City. We took a cab from Panama there. We stayed at Driftwood Inn which had a Victorian style bed.
When we reached Mexico Beach, we admired the beauty and realized why it is regarded as nature lover’s paradise. We went to Caribbean Coffee for brunch. They served freshly brewed coffee and pastries. We also had cinnamon rolls, quiche, and Caribbean Paninis. Then we went to Wewahitchka. It is located along the River Chipola and the Dead Lakes. We did fishing there for some time. It is one of the best places for nature photographers. It was even featured in Peter Fonda’s 1997 movie named Ulee’s Gold. We then went to Crazy beach Pizza for lunch. There we had Garden Pizza, Buffalo chicken wings, cheese sticks, and combo calzone.
After such a delicious lunch, we went to St. George Island State Park. It opens at 8 AM and closes after sundown. We cycled through the paved road of the park. It felt like serendipity there. It has been documented that there are about 300 species of birds found here. We got to see terns, herons, plovers, and sandpipers. We even hiked to Gap Point which was a 2.5-mile trail. They even provided stargazing opportunity.
We stopped at Killer seafood Restaurant for dinner. We had smoked tuna dip and crackers for the starters. Then we had Calamari tacos, dinner salad, crab cake, grilled shrimp and homemade sweet potato pecan pie.
The next morning we went to Sharon’s Café for breakfast. Then we went to Frost Pottery garden gift shop. It was like a treasure chest with scented candles, jewelry, t-shirts, and other unique items.
Thus, we had an amazing experience.
